John Apadula is the Vice President, Tax Planning for Comcast Corporation. In this role John advises on M&A activity and restructurings, and leads our international tax strategy and operations. In this capacity John works closely with leaders in Comcast Legal, Finance and Corporate Development, and with Tax and Transfer Pricing teams at Comcast and NBCUniversal.
John is a member of the Philadelphia Tax Advisory Board and chairs the annual Philadelphia Tax Conference, an event co-sponsored by the ABA Tax Section that brings in many of the leading tax practitioners from across the country to discuss the latest issues and developments in all areas of tax.
Prior to joining Comcast in 2011 John was VP and Tax Counsel at NBCUniversal, where he led a team that covered all aspects of tax planning and transactions including corporate M&A, partnerships and international, and chaired a cross-functional team among tax, legal, finance and business leaders involved in transactional activity.
Before NBCUniversal John was counsel at Dewey Ballantine where he spent over a decade. At Dewey, John advised domestic and foreign clients on M&A planning, reorganizations, spin-offs and restructurings, working with many Fortune 500 companies.
After college and prior to attending law school, John worked in the tax group at Arthur Andersen.
John graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University and received his JD from the Columbia University School of Law, graduating as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
John lives with his wife and family in Media, Pennsylvania.
