Ines Torra-Bilal

Ines Torra-Bilal, PhD, PE, is an experienced engineer and consultant currently employed at Exponent since January 2023. Prior to this role, Ines held positions at HNTB as Engineer III and Engineer II from May 2019 to January 2023. Academic experience includes serving as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago from January 2016 to December 2020, along with roles at TranSmart/EJM Corporation as a Structural Design Engineer and Integrity Structural Corp. as a Design Engineer Intern. Ines's earlier career involved serving as a Technical Commercialization Analyst/Patent Engineer at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Technical Team Lead during an internship at ComEd. Ines earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2020, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and Mechanics in 2017, and a degree in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois from 2011 to 2015.
