Eric Laamanen

Eric Laamanen is an accomplished engineer with a robust background in research and development, specializing in test engineering and mechanical integrity. Currently serving as the Manager of R&D Test Engineering at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since September 2022, Eric focuses on de-risking high-temperature superconducting magnet technology for the SPARC project. Previously, at Superpedestrian, Eric designed and implemented automated test fixtures for electric vehicle component verification. Experience at Amphenol ICC involved developing test plans and performing ANSYS FEA for high-speed I/O products. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Additional experience encompasses roles as a 3D Printing Lab Assistant and an Application Technology Intern at SABIC, where Eric contributed to thermoplastic composite R&D efforts.
