Community Economic Defense Project
Javier Mabrey is a State Representative for the State of Colorado, having assumed the role in November 2022. Mabrey previously held the position of State Representative-Elect and serves as a Staff Attorney for the COVID-19 Eviction Defense Project since January 2021. Prior experience includes working as an Associate Attorney at Faegre Drinker from September 2019 to January 2021, and as a Summer Associate at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP in mid-2018. Earlier roles encompass working as a Housing Law Clerk at the East Bay Community Law Center, a Law Clerk for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and leadership positions with various initiatives, including Colorado Commits to Kids and Obama for America. Mabrey holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
