Muhammad Asif Bhatti is an experienced operations professional with a extensive background in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Currently serving as the Regional General Manager Operations at COMSATS Internet Services since July 2019, Muhammad oversees daily operations and ensures compliance with service quality and business objectives across Karachi and Sukkur Nodes. Prior to this role, Muhammad held various positions at Comstar - Information Systems Associates Ltd., including Deputy Manager Operations for the North Region, where responsibility included managing technical teams for broadband and VSAT services, as well as previously serving in design, pre-sales, and network operations roles. Muhammad initiated a strong foundation in technical support with roles at Crestar International and educational qualifications that include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Mehran University and a Professional Diploma in Project Management from the Pakistan Institute of Management.

The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) is an inter-governmental organization, with its Headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan. On invitation from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, representatives from several developing countries met on 4th and 5th October 1994 in Islamabad and agreed to establish The Commission as a high level forum represented by heads of states and governments aiming at sustainable socio-economic uplift of the developing countries through appropriate applications of science and technology. COMSATS, currently, has a membership of 21 countries, spread across three continents, i.e. Asia, Africa and Latin America. A group of 16 science and technology organizations in different developing countries are also affiliated with COMSATS as a Network of Centres of Excellence.
