Ivy Zelman

Ivy Zelman founded Zelman & Associates in 2007, which was recently acquired by Walker & Dunlop resulting in the new JV entity, WDIB, LLC. Ivy holds a minority interest in WDIB, LLC. Prior to founding Zelman & Associates in 2007, Ms. Zelman served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston from 1998 to 2007, where she focused on housing-related research. From 1990 to 1997, Ms. Zelman was an equity research analyst at Salomon Brothers. Ms. Zelman is a widely known and respected thought leader on all aspects of the housing spectrum and what the overall housing market means for investors, homebuilders, industry executives and the economy at large. She frequently appears on television shows such as CNBC, in major publications including “The Wall Street Journal,” and has acted as a key witness in a congressional hearing. Ms. Zelman’s speaking engagements include industry conferences, board meetings, podcasts or special events for organizations such as: Bloomberg, CNBC, National Association of Homebuilders, National Association of Realtors, Mortgage Banking Association, Moody’s, PropTech CEO Summit, and more. Most notably, Ms. Zelman was inducted into the Institutional Investors - America Research Team’s inaugural Hall of Fame in 2012 as a result of earning eleven first place rankings (1999 – 2004, 2006 – 2007 and 2010 –2013). Additionally, Hanley Wood, a leading real estate media firm, ranked Ms. Zelman as 14th of the Top 50 most influential persons in housing. In 2020, Ms. Zelman was included in Barron’s Top 100 Women in U.S. Finance. Ms. Zelman received a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University.
