Mariyan Jeyarajah has gained work experience in both research and academia. They started their career as a Research Assistant at Western University in May 2017. They then worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2019 to April 2022 while also pursuing their PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology. Mariyan Jeyarajah completed their PhD in January 2023. Currently, they are working as an Associate Scientist at Conception, starting in May 2023.

Mariyan Jeyarajah began their education at Western University in 2013 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Genetics in 2017. They then pursued further studies at the same institution, where they enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy program in Anatomy and Cell Biology in 2017, which is expected to be completed in 2023.

Conception is a company developing the technology to turn skin cells into viable human eggs.This technology will give women the opportunity to have children well into their forties and fifties, eliminate barriers for couples suffering from infertility, and potentially allow male-male couples to have biological children.Long term, thistechnology could be a critical platform allowing for widespread genetic screening of embryos.
