Joel Rivers

Joel Rivers is an experienced professional with a diverse background in operations support and security. Since July 2009, Rivers has served as the Executive Director of Operations Support Services and Director of Security at the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, overseeing network and physical security for the LCMS International Center. Prior to this, Rivers spent 20 years as a Naval Officer in the US Navy Reserve, retiring in December 2018. Additionally, Rivers worked as a Middle School Teacher and Athletic Director at St. John's Lutheran School from 1990 to 1999. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Concordia University, Nebraska.
