Jim Callaghan has had a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Jim began their career as a Driller at Precision Drilling, where they gained 5 years of experience on various drilling rigs. Jim then worked at Ainsworth Lumber Co. as a 3rd Class Engineer - Energy Operator, responsible for the efficient operation of a thermal oil heating system. Jim also served as a 3rd Class Engineer at Bombardier Aerospace before joining Molson-Coors Canada as a 2nd Class Engineer, where they were in charge of engine room operations and maintenance of HVAC systems. Most recently, Jim worked at Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd as a Chief Power Engineer, where they supervised the safe operation of a 1st Class Power Plant and was also responsible for training coordination.

Jim Callaghan attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1998 to 2000, where they studied Power Engineering Technology.
