Doug Thompson is an experienced mediator and educator with a comprehensive background in conflict resolution and environmental enforcement. Currently a Senior Mediator at the Consensus Building Institute since June 2013, Doug has also served as a Court Supervisor and Lecturer at UMass Boston since 1997. Prior roles include Senior Mediator at The Keystone Center from March 2005 to May 2013 and Branch Chief of Water Enforcement at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 1981 to 2005, where involvement in dispute resolution began. Doug co-founded the U.S. Institute for Conflict Resolution, working as a Senior Associate in 1999. Doug holds a Master of Science degree in Biology from Northwestern University, obtained in 1978.
