Michael Gilbert has a diverse work experience in the architecture and construction industry. Michael started their career as an Architectural Design Intern at L2M Architects in 2005 and continued working there until 2007. Michael then joined the same company again in 2008, this time as an Intern Architect I. Over the years, they progressed to the role of Project Designer, Project Lead, and eventually became a Project Lead Manager in 2015. Michael stayed with L2M Architects until 2019.
In 2019, Michael transitioned to Hord Coplan Macht, where they took on various roles as a Construction Coordinator in the Housing/Mixed-Use and Healthcare sectors. Michael was responsible for coordinating construction activities and ensuring the successful completion of projects. Michael'stenure at Hord Coplan Macht ended in 2023.
Concurrently, Michael was also involved in professional organizations. From 2019 to 2021, they served as an Elected Board Member, Committee Chair, and Program Director at the Construction Specifications Institute. Michael was later elected as the organization's 2nd Vice President, a position they still hold. Additionally, they became a Member of the International Facility Management Association in 2023.
Furthermore, Michael is engaged in community service. Michael started serving as an Elected Board Member for the Pasadena Sportfishing Group Inc. in 2023. In the same year, they also took on the role of Facilities Planning & Construction Coordinator for the Anne Arundel County Government.
Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated their expertise in architecture, construction coordination, project management, and leadership. Michael continues to actively contribute to the architectural industry and their community through their involvement in professional organizations and community service activities.
Michael Gilbert, Assoc. AIA, CSI has a background in architecture. Michael attended the Boston Architectural College where they studied architecture. Following that, they pursued an Associate of Applied Science degree in Architecture from Anne Arundel Community College. In terms of additional certifications, Michael obtained a Procore Certified: Architect certification from Procore Technologies in October 2019. Michael also obtained a Certificate of Boating Safety Education from the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators in August 2019. Lastly, they obtained an AutoCAD Certificate from Autodesk in May 2007.

CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) is a national association dedicated to improving the documentation, management and communication of building information as used by the construction community. CSI accomplishes its mission through the development of construction standards and formats such as MasterFormat and UniFormat; the promulgation of those formats through master guide specifications and building information management (BIM) software; training and certification programs, including the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) and Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) exams; publication of Construction Specifier magazine; and an ever-expanding membership of decision-makers who identify and specify building product solutions.
