Damien O'Neill has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Damien began their career as a Customer Support Staff at Sprite Software Ltd in 2008 before moving on to become a Support Systems Manager from 2009 to 2011. In 2012, they worked as a Workforce Management Administrator at Brand Developers Limited, and later became a Media Coordinator at Brand Developers Ltd from 2012 to 2013. Damien then ventured into finance, becoming a CFA Research Challenge New Zealand Winner in 2013 while studying at Auckland University of Technology. In 2018, they joined Victoria University of Wellington as a PHD Student and continued their academic pursuits until 2023. Most recently, Damien served as a Data Scientist at Contact Energy Ltd from 2019 to 2021, before being promoted to the role of Analytics Lead in March 2021.
Damien O'Neill pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2008 to 2010, they attended the University of Otago, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. During their time at the University of Otago, they focused on the fields of Psychology and Linguistics. Following this, in 2013, Damien enrolled at the Auckland University of Technology and completed a Graduate Certificate in Business - Institutional Finance in 2015. In 2014, they began studying at Victoria University of Wellington and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

It generates electricity through hydro, geothermal and thermal sources. The Company operates through two segments: Generation segment and Customer segment. The Generation segment is engaged in the business of selling electricity to the wholesale electricity market and to the Customer segment. The Customer segment delivers, services and distributes energy to customers. It sells electricity, gas and LPG products and services to residential, small business, commercial and industrial customers. The Company's stations include Ahuroa and Stratford in Taranaki; Ohaaki, Poihipi and Te Rapa in Waikato, Te Huka and Te Mihi in Taupo Wairakei in Taupo, and Whirinaki in Hawke's Bay. It is also involved in the development of geothermal energy projects.
