Elaine Liu

Elaine Liu is currently serving as the Lead Venture Partner at Contrary since September 2022, where the firm focuses on investing in top talent and has created over $10 billion in value through notable investments in various companies. Liu is also an Undergraduate Researcher at the MIT Media Lab, contributing to wearable health technology at Conformable Decoders, with experience in tools such as LTSpice and Altium Designer. Additionally, Liu participated in an internship as a Fellow at Thrive Capital in the summer of 2024 and held the position of Cohort 3.0 Admin at Prod from May 2023 to December 2023. A Software Engineer in Deep Learning at VIA Technologies, Inc. during the summer of 2023, Liu worked on optimizing BEV perception methods and developing visualization features for autonomous vehicle sensors. Liu is pursuing both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with expected completion dates in 2027.
