Robert Thayer

Robert Thayer has extensive experience in media technology and finance, currently serving as a Partner at Ripley Holdings, Ltd. since 2005 and as a Limited Partner at Contrary Capital since April 2018. Previous roles include Project Manager/Product Manager at Fox (Film, TV and Sports) and Legg Mason / Western Asset Management / Village Roadshow from 2001 to 2005, and Director of Finance/Strategic Planning at Sony Pictures Entertainment from 1999 to 2001. Thayer also co-founded Healthshore, serving as CFO from 1999 to 2000, and worked as Manager of Strategic Planning & Analysis at Spelling Entertainment Inc from 1998 to 2000. Early career positions included Senior Analyst at Warner Bros. Studios and Sr Analyst - Corporate Development at May Department Stores. Thayer holds a degree in International Business with a focus on Russian from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed studies at Harvard-Westlake School.
