Denise Sofia

Denise Sofia currently serves as the Head of ESG at Contship Italia, where responsibilities include defining and leading the Group’s sustainability vision, overseeing ESG compliance and reporting, and engaging with C-level executives and global stakeholders to promote ESG initiatives. Previous experience includes a role as a Senior Strategist at Quantis, where Denise led sustainability consulting projects and launched Nature Strategy services in Italy. From 2011 to March 2024, Denise worked at JLL, initially as a Strategy Analyst before progressing to EMEA Sustainability Officer, tasked with implementing corporate sustainability strategies and managing carbon footprint reporting across Europe. Denise holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, and a BSc in Biological Sciences from The University of Edinburgh.
