Cole Carter is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the correctional system and education. Since July 1994, Cole Carter has held various positions at CoreCivic, culminating in the role of General Counsel, overseeing litigation across nine states and managing legal and policy development for a large correctional system. Cole Carter also has a background in educational program management, having developed reentry educational initiatives for facility residents. Additionally, Cole Carter has held academic positions as an adjunct instructor at Lipscomb University and as an instructor in various correctional settings. Cole Carter earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the Nashville School of Law, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in English Language and Literature from Tennessee State University.
