Krystyn J. Van Vliet serves as the Vice President for Research and Innovation at Cornell University since February 2023 and is a scientific co-founder at Artificial Axon Labs. Prior to these roles, Krystyn held significant positions at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology Centre from 2010 to 2023, where Krystyn was co-lead principal investigator for the SMART Critical Analytics for Manufacturing Personalized-Medicine project. From 2004 to 2023, Krystyn was a professor at MIT, also serving as Associate Provost, overseeing strategic alliances and technology transfer, and as Associate Vice President for Research, managing initiatives in manufacturing innovation. Krystyn’s early career includes postdoctoral research at Boston Children's Hospital and a graduate education culminating in a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT.
