Interim Director, Collections And Curatorial Affairs at Corning Museum of Glass

Carole Ann Fabian joined The Corning Museum of Glass as the Director of Collections in December 2018. A member of the Museum’s leadership team, she leads the management of the curatorial and conservation teams, as well as the collections group (registrars, preparators, and photography) and publications. Due to her extensive background in libraries and archives, she also plays a role in the development of institutional strategy for the Rakow Research Library.

Fabian came to this position after more than nine years at Columbia University in New York City, where she served as the director for the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library. At the Avery Library, she oversaw acquisitions, grants, and advancement initiatives for both operations and endowments, renovated the Library's 1974 addition, and initiated the Digital Avery program.

Before that, Fabian worked at ARTstor Digital Library as a planning, outreach, and communications officer, and as associate librarian at the University of Buffalo, SUNY. Early in her career, she was an intern at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and an associate provenance archivist and curatorial assistant in paintings at the Getty Museum.

Fabian holds an MLS degree from the School of Information and Library Studies at University at Buffalo, SUNY, and a dual bachelor’s degree in Fine Art & Art History from SUNY at Oswego.
