Shona Pennock is a Senior Energy Systems Engineer at CorPower Ocean since September 2023, bringing extensive experience in marine and offshore renewable energy technologies. Previously, Shona worked as a Research Associate in Marine Energy at the Policy and Innovation Group within the University of Edinburgh's Institute for Energy Systems from January 2018 to April 2023, focusing on methodologies to evaluate the benefits of innovative offshore energy technologies. Shona completed a six-month secondment at the Scottish Government in 2019, contributing to research on tidal stream energy. An academic background includes a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, specializing in the economics and operation of wind power in Scotland, alongside a PGCert in Researcher Professional Development. Additional roles included teaching assistantship and internships at the Scottish Government and positions at Wolfson Microelectronics. Shona holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of St Andrews.
