Gabrielle Sierra

Gabrielle Sierra is an experienced media professional currently serving as the Director of Podcasting at the Council on Foreign Relations since June 2017. In this role, Gabrielle hosts and produces the bi-weekly podcast "Why It Matters," overseeing episode direction, conducting interviews, developing topics, and managing a team. Previously, Gabrielle held various roles at the Council on Foreign Relations, including Events Editor for CFR Digital, where oversight of digital content and YouTube strategy was a focus. Other notable positions include Features Writer at Paste Magazine, Editor for Events Curation Product at Meta, and Contributing Writer for multiple publications such as Gothamist.com and Billboard. Gabrielle holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a BA in English and Theater from the University at Albany.
