Chuck Westerheide

Chuck Westerheide is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in the media industry. Currently the Public Safety Group Communications Officer for the County of San Diego since October 2021, Westerheide previously served as Assistant News Director at NBCUniversal from December 1997 to August 2021, where responsibilities included overseeing a bilingual newsroom and directing editorial meetings. Prior to that, Westerheide contributed to the establishment of KOKH LLC's news department as a Producer in 1996-1997, and produced newscasts while coordinating coverage for WDAF-TV from 1994 to 1996. Westerheide began his career as a Sports Producer at Koco TV 5 from 1989 to 1994. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Westerheide holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs.
