Johnny Lai

Johnny Lai possesses extensive experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and application development. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Coupa Software since July 2013, Johnny has been instrumental in migrating a Ruby application to Kubernetes and creating a system for on-demand provisioning. Previous roles at Coupa include Sr Lead Engineer and Lead Software Engineer, during which Johnny developed an auto-scaling Kubernetes cluster and upgraded the Rails framework. Prior experience at Trend Micro involved significant contributions to mobile-device management and anti-virus solutions, while earlier roles included R&D Head at Alvaview Technology Inc., and programming positions at the University of Wollongong and Illawarra Technology Corporation. Johnny holds a Ph.D. and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Wollongong.
