Laura Butler is a legal professional with extensive experience in legal research and library services. Currently serving as the Head of Legal Research and Library Services at the Courts Service since March 2019, Laura has also established the KM Network Dublin to connect like-minded professionals since May 2015. Laura's background includes tutoring in legal research at the Law Society of Ireland, holding key positions at Dillon Eustace Solicitors and Matheson, where responsibilities included professional support and managing legal resources. Previous roles at the Courts Service involved providing judicial assistance and research. Laura holds an MSc in Business (Leadership & Management Practice) from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and multiple law degrees from esteemed institutions.

Courts Service
The Courts Service was established as an independent corporate organisation on 9th November, 1999 following the enactment of the Courts Service Act, 1998. We employ around 1,000 staff in 40 locations nationwide. Our functions are: -to manage the courts -to provide support services for the judges -to provide information on the courts system to the public -to provide, manage and maintain court buildings -to provide facilities for users of the courts.
