Mary-Anne Cosgrove has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2010, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Software Traction Pty Ltd and then moved on to Certus Solutions Limited as a Senior Consultant from February to October 2011. From 2011 to 2014, Mary-Anne served as a Senior Developer Consultant at ThoughtWorks, where they contributed to various projects, including the development of a hotel image transfer system. Continuing their career in the technology field, they joined Envato as a Senior Developer in July 2014 and worked there until May 2021. During their time at Envato, Mary-Anne gained expertise in agile software development and promoted practices such as Behavior Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Cross-functional teams. In 2017, Mary-Anne became the Convenor at ACT Humanist Society, where they actively participated until December 2020. Mary-Anne then held multiple positions at Humanists Australia, serving as the Acting Chair from August 2020 to April 2021, and later as the Chair from April 2021. In 2021, Mary-Anne worked as a Product Engineer at Mable from October 2021 to June 2022 while simultaneously running their own Sole Trader business, MAC's Websites, from June 2021 onwards. Currently, Mary-Anne is employed as a Senior Software Engineer at Covidence.org, starting in July 2022.

Mary-Anne Cosgrove completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Maths at The Australian National University from 1981 to 1985. Mary-Anne then pursued further education at the University of Canberra, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Computing Studies from 1990 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Mary-Anne also holds certifications in "Introduction to Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis" from Coursera, obtained in February 2023, and "IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Rational RequisitePro" from the IBM Professional Certification Program, obtained in September 2010.
