Tom Defilipps

Tom DeFilipps is an accomplished attorney currently serving as Chair of the West Coast Corporate Practice at Covington & Burling LLP since September 2016. Prior to this role, Tom held the position of Managing Partner at the Palo Alto office of Sidley Austin LLP from December 2009 to September 2016. Tom's career also includes a tenure as a Partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati from September 1982 to December 2009. Tom DeFilipps holds a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School, obtained between 1978 and 1981, and a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, earned from 1974 to 1978. Tom's foundational education was completed at Nutley High School from 1970 to 1974.
