Sonya Bhonsle has extensive experience in sustainable procurement and supply chain management. Sonya currently holds the position of Global Head of Value Chains & Regional Director Corporations at CDP, where they lead CDP's corporate activities and supply chain program, influencing over US$4 trillion in annual procurement spend. Prior to their current role, they were the Director of CDP Supply Chain, managing and developing CDP's supply chain work in various regions. Sonya has also worked as a Carbon Advisor at Mouchel, where they engaged with organizations in London to assess and reduce their carbon emissions. Sonya has held policy advisor roles at DEFRA (Global Carbon Markets) and the Cabinet Office, where they worked on carbon offsetting and sustainable procurement projects. Additionally, they have served as an Executive Officer at DEFRA (Sustainable Development Unit), focusing on policy development and program management for sustainable procurement. Sonya began their career as a Junior Project Manager at DEFRA - SCP, overseeing research contracts and contract negotiations.
Sonya Bhonsle attended the University of Nottingham from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Geography.
