Chris Budd

Chris Budd is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Franchise Technical Director at Creative Assembly since May 2013, overseeing the technical strategy and team health for the Total War franchise. Previous roles at Creative Assembly include Engine Director, responsible for the core technology group, and Project Technical Director for Total War: Three Kingdoms, managing technical delivery and integration of central features. Prior experience includes a Research Fellow position at the University of Surrey focusing on high-performance mesh deformation, and a researcher role at BBC where innovative online transmission systems were developed, winning recognition at NEM 2012. Chris Budd also served as a Systems Engineer at Thales, developing code for flight training simulators. Chris Budd holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Bath and a PhD in Computer Graphics and Vision from the University of Surrey.
