Michael Cox has a diverse work experience in various industries. Michael started their career in the US Navy, where they served as a Navy Diver in the Underwater Construction Teams. During their time in the Navy, they were recognized for their contributions and received the "Sailor of the Year" award. After leaving the Navy, Cox joined Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, Inc. as Director/GM & Vice President. Michael then moved on to Graycor, where they held the position of Vice President. Cox later joined Austin Industrial, Inc., where they served in multiple roles, including Vice President of Specialty Services and President/COO of Austin Industrial. In 2020, they became the President & CEO of Bilfinger North America, a leading international industrial services provider. Currently, Cox holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Crete United, an energy efficiency company based in Charlotte, NC.

Michael Cox holds a Master's Degree in Strategic Management & Leadership from Michigan State University. Michael also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Citadel. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Saint Leo University. Furthermore, they have a Certificate in Data Analytics-Decision Making from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
