Crowdhelix
Riam Kanso has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2019, they founded Conception X and served as the CEO. Riam also held the position of Non Executive Director at Baltic Ventures starting in 2023.
In 2015, Riam co-founded Crowdhelix, a platform that facilitates collaborations between academia and industry for grant proposals and short projects. Riam played a key role in its establishment.
From 2017 to 2019, Riam worked as the Head of Student Entrepreneurship at UCL Faculty of Engineering, where they focused on helping students commercialize their research. Riam also served as a Course Supervisor at Cambridge Judge Business School in 2017-2018.
Previously, Riam held the position of Programme Manager - Collaborate to Innovate at MedCity from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager at University College London from 2012 to 2016.
In 2014-2015, Riam served as the Director-General Manager at CBK Sci Con Limited. Riam also gained research experience as a Researcher in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2013.
Additionally, Riam interned in science policy at The Royal Society in 2011, where they contributed to two major reports on the implications of neuroscience on society.
Riam Kanso completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Physics at the American University of Beirut from 2005 to 2008. Riam then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2009. Following that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, also from the University of Oxford, completing their studies there from 2009 to 2013.
