Jan Joris Vereijken has a diverse work experience spanning from 1988 to 2022. Jan Joris is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Crunchr, where they are responsible for the technology stack and leads teams in infrastructure, security, privacy, and data. In the early years of their career, Jan worked at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs Innovations as a Network Architect and Senior Software Engineer. Jan Joris worked on mobile telephony network planning projects and software engineering for telephone switching systems.
Jan started their career as an Academic Researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology, where they conducted research in formal specification and verification of network protocols and taught undergraduate and graduate students. Jan Joris also worked as a Software Engineer at Leiden University, focusing on software engineering and documentation.
Jan Joris Vereijken completed their education in a chronological sequence. Jan Joris began at De Wentelwiek Elementary School from 1975 to 1981. Following that, they attended Eckart College to pursue their high school education from 1981 to 1987. After completing high school, they entered Eindhoven University of Technology for their Propaedeuse in Technical Computing Science from 1987 to 1988. Jan Joris then proceeded to Leiden University, where they obtained their M.Sc. in Theoretical Computer Science with minors in Law and Russian Language, which took place from 1988 to 1993. Finally, Vereijken pursued a Ph.D. in Technical Computing Science at Eindhoven University of Technology from 1993 to 1997.
In addition to their formal education, Jan Joris Vereijken acquired two additional certifications. Jan Joris obtained the TOGAF 9 Certified Level from The Open Group in May 2012. Furthermore, they achieved the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in July 2006.
