Hampton Maxwell has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 1998, Hampton worked as a System Administrator/Programmer at 101Freeway.com until 2003. From 2003 to 2008, they worked as a Systems Analyst at Digital Path Networks. In 2007, they became a Self-employed Technology Consultant as an Independent Contractor until 2012.

In 2012, Hampton joined GoChip Inc. as a Technology Analyst, and then moved on to become a Mobile Application Developer from 2014 to 2015. Hampton then transitioned to Heighten in 2015 as a Platform Engineer, where they developed UI components using React.js and Redux, implemented visual redesign, and developed authentication screens for iOS and Android apps using React Native. In 2016, they joined GoChip Inc. again, this time as a Lead Mobile Engineer, a position they held until 2018.

Since 2018, Hampton has been working at Crunchyroll. Hampton started as a Staff Software Engineer from 2018 to 2019, then became a Tech Lead from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, they served as an Engineering Manager, and starting from December 2022, they hold the role of Staff Engineer.

Hampton Maxwell attended UC Santa Barbara from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. In addition to their degree, they obtained a certification in Product Manager Foundations from One Month PM in March 2023.
