Stefano Schuppli is an experienced professional in software engineering and IT service management, currently serving as the Unit Head of Software Engineering and Lead for Data Warehouse and Intelligence Services at CSCS since June 2017. As the Founder and Software Engineer at Carth Studios since April 2004, Stefano has developed innovative ideas into marketable services and products. Previously, at Avaloq from February 2008 to May 2017, Stefano held multiple leadership roles, including Head of Desktop Services, where oversight was provided to a team of approximately 30 professionals supporting around 10,000 users. Additionally, Stefano has experience as an ITO Service Delivery Manager for the Asia Pacific region and began a career at Swisscom, recognized as the Best IT Apprentice in Ticino for 2007. Educationally, Stefano is pursuing an MSc in Data Science and holds a BSc in Computing and Information Systems from Goldsmiths, University of London, along with a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.

Founded in 1991, CSCS, the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre, develops and promotes technical and scientific services for the Swiss research community in the fields of high-performance computing. CSCS enables world-class scientific research by pioneering, operating and supporting leading-edge supercomputing technologies. The centre collaborates with domestic and foreign researchers, and carries out its own research in scientific computing. Located in Lugano, in the southern, Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, CSCS is an autonomous unit of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich).
