Matthias Spiess is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as a Senior Principal Scientist and Team Leader at CSL Behring since June 2017. Prior roles include a Postdoctoral position at Karolinska Institutet, where Matthias developed a method to study integrin activation using super-resolution microscopy from July 2014 to August 2018. At Stockholm University, a Postdoc position involved characterizing the novel role of individual monomeric subunits of the chaperonin CCT in mammalian cell culture between January 2012 and June 2014, utilizing advanced live cell microscopy techniques. Matthias completed a PhD at Université de Strasbourg, focusing on peptide-protein interaction screening to investigate SH3 domain interaction networks in yeast from 2007 to October 2011. Matthias holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry from ETH Zürich, attained between 2003 and 2006.
