Hakan Golbasi

Hakan Golbasi is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in operations research and data analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at CSX since August 2016, Hakan is a key member of the Operations Research Modeling and Analytic Team, focusing on data mining and optimization techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in the railroad industry. Prior to CSX, Hakan held various roles at Navis, contributing as a Senior Optimization Scientist and Module Lead in the development of sophisticated algorithms for marine terminal operations. Hakan's earlier experience includes serving as an Operations Research Analyst at the Environmental Sciences Research Institute, where notable achievements included designing algorithms for geographic information systems. Hakan holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Lehigh University, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University.
