Emma Webb currently holds the position of Chief of Cabinet at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) since August 2022. Previously, Emma served as Chief of External Relations and Communications at United Nations Volunteers from August 2021 to August 2022, and as Head of Strategy and Partnerships at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from July 2015 to August 2021. What: Building and operating the world's most sophisticated verification regime, consisting of 300+ monitoring stations around the planet, an International Data Centre and an on-site inspection regime. Why: To verify the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, which bans all nuclear explosions, everywhere, for everyone. This hampers both the initial development of nuclear weapons as well as their substantial improvement (H-bomb). It also helps prevent damage caused by nuclear testing to humans and the environment.
