Shawn McGuire

Shawn Mcguire is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in developing innovative technologies for therapeutic research and global health initiatives. Currently serving as Director of Engineering and VP of Technology at Curi Bio since December 2024, Shawn successfully launched the Mantarray, a leading 3D engineered tissue contractility platform. Previous roles include R&D work at Amazon's Grand Challenge group, where details remain under NDA, and Principal Engineer and Manager at Intellectual Ventures, leading a team to create a portable microscope for malaria identification using deep learning. Additionally, Shawn contributed to the development of novel vaccine cold storage devices at PATH, resulting in two commercialized products, and designed scientific instruments for genomics at the University of Washington's Genomation Laboratory. Shawn holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
