Rafael Oliveira's work experience begins in 2013 at Airbus, where they initially served as a Research Engineer in Applied Mathematics and Flight Optimization. In this role, they focused on developing a real-time flight trajectory optimization solution and weather avoidance algorithms. Rafael also contributed to the development of the Connected Cockpit Concept for Airbus' electrical aircraft demonstrator. In 2016, Oliveira transitioned to the position of Artificial Intelligence Researcher at Airbus Central Research & Technology, where they identified emerging technologies in advanced analytics, data technology, and AI. Rafael was responsible for developing the Airbus Group's analytics and cognitive intelligence roadmap and coordinating divisional activity. In 2017, they became the Technical Assistant to the Head of Airbus Central Research & Technology, where they supported decision making and reported on technical analyses related to research activities and projects within the organization. Finally, in 2018, Oliveira founded their own company, Curiosity, where they serve as the Founder and Chief Technology Officer.
