Maxim Ignatenko is a seasoned RF engineer with extensive experience in antenna design and electromagnetic analysis. Currently serving as the Principal RF Engineer at Custom Microwave, Inc. since January 2019, Maxim has previously held senior roles including Senior RF Engineer/Manager and Senior RF Engineer. Prior to this, a Senior Research Associate position was held at the University of Colorado Boulder, where work focused on designing advanced antennas and mentoring students. Maxim's earlier roles included research positions at Kent State University, the National Institute for Fusion Science, and Kyushu University, with a strong emphasis on numerical analysis, microwave heating applications, and Monte Carlo simulations. Maxim holds a PhD in Applied Science for Electronics and Materials from Kyushu University and a Master’s degree in Radiophysics and Electronics from Irkutsk State University.

CMI was founded in 1965 for the purpose of manufacturing complex high precision microwave, millimeterwave and sub-millimeterwave passive components and assemblies for ground and space use. CMI is an approved vendor for most aerospace companies including Lockheed Martin, Space Systems Loral, Orbital Sciences Corp., Boeing Satellite Systems, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Harris, NASA/JPL/GSFC, and Ball Aerospace.
