Michael Karavitis

Michael Karavitis is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in the medical device and research sectors. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Cutera, Inc. since August 2017, Michael has also held the CTO position at Femtoblanc and served as Vice President of Research and Development at Cutera. Previous roles include Director of Laser Research, Development and Engineering at Alcon LenSx, Director at Newport Corp., and Principal Scientist at Intralase Corp. Michael began professional pursuits as a Member of Technical Staff at The Aerospace Corporation and has academic roots as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Irvine. Michael earned a Ph.D. in Chemical and Material Physics from UC Irvine and a BS in Chemistry with minors in Psychology and Economics from Indiana University Bloomington.
