CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets

CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets began as Chesapeake Veterinary Cardiology Associates (CVCA) with a single cardiologist in a small strip mall location in Glendale, Maryland in 1987. In 1991, we moved to Annapolis, Maryland and began to operate out of the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, a multispecialty and emergency veterinary hospital. Our residency program was founded in 1995 to train future cardiologists, all of whom still practice with us today. In 1996, we opened our second location in Springfield, Virginia and continued to expand to fulfill the needs of pet owners and primary care veterinarians throughout, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia. As our company grew, we geographically distanced ourselves outside of the Chesapeake Bay region, and thus we changed our name to the acronym CVCA. Today, CVCA is the largest veterinary practice in the world with all 14 of our sites located within 24-hour emergency and veterinary specialty referral centers. From the beginning, our focus has always been on creating the best possible experience and outcome for cardiac patients and their families. We know that first-rate service and care can only be delivered through the best people, and we have focused on creating an optimal work environment with team members who share our core values of compassion, excellence and integrity. This is how we built a team who is committed to offering excellent patient care and superior service to our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians. It is our privilege to partner with primary care veterinarians to offer the highest level of care for pets with cardiovascular disease.
