Ray O'Meara

Ray O'Meara has extensive work experience in technical writing and documentation. Ray started their career at SBC as a Network Engineer in 2001, followed by a role as a Network Operations Engineer at Nextel Telecommunications from 2002 to 2004. Ray then worked as a self-employed Network Engineer from 2004 to 2008.

In 2008, they joined Lionbridge as an E-Learning Content Developer, where they were responsible for content development and various documentation projects. Ray also worked as a Quality Control Global Crowd Sourcing specialist, training and documenting 3000 U.S. work-at-home contractors.

From 2015 to 2018, Ray was an Information Developer at IBM, focusing on technical documentation for IBM Security products. Ray then worked at Flexera as a Senior Technical Writer from 2018 to 2019.

From 2019 to 2021, Ray was a Senior Technical Writer at Synopsys Inc, where they documented cloud, on-prem, and software products. Ray had good exposure to Cloud Native technologies and worked on API and SDK documentation.

In 2021, they joined aPriori Technologies as a Senior Technical Documentation Specialist for a year before moving to Optiva Inc. as a Principal Technical Writer from 2022 to 2023.

Currently, Ray is working as a Lead Technical Writer at CYE, focusing on cybersecurity documentation with a specialization in risk quantification and Cybersecurity maturity. Ray also has experience in content migration and publication using MadCap Flare, online help, and CSH.

Ray O'Meara obtained a Master's Degree in E-Learning and Technical Communication from the University of Limerick between 2012 and 2014.
