Cytokinetics
Stuart joined Cytokinetics in January 2020 as Chief Medical Officer.
Stuart has worked for more than 20 years leading clinical development of drugs for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, including Actos, Nesina, Edarbi, and Somavert. Prior to Cytokinetics Stuart was Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head of cardiometabolic clinical development at Takeda and previously worked in clinical research at Abbott and Searle/Pharmacia. Before working in the pharmaceutical industry, Stuart was Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis where he practiced endocrinology and conducted basic research on gene regulation of nuclear receptors.
Dr. Kupfer received his M.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and completed his pediatrics residency at Yale University and endocrinology fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
