Jan Michal

Jan Michal serves as the CEO of CzechInvest since April 2024, leading the national agency for investment promotion and business development. Prior to this role, Jan Michal was the Deputy Director for Representation in Member States and Head of Political and Economic Intelligence at the European Commission from August 2017 to March 2024. Jan Michal also held various significant positions, including Advisor (Deputy Sherpa) for European Affairs at the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, and Head of the EC Representation in the Czech Republic. Other notable roles include UN Director and Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, as well as Deputy Permanent Representative to the OPCW. Jan Michal's academic background includes degrees in Economics from Prague University of Economics and Business, as well as a Master of Arts in International Relations from Charles University, along with further education from KU Leuven and Stanford University.
