Erika Martinez

Erika Martinez is an experienced journalist currently serving as the Deputy Metro Editor at the New York Daily News since November 2016, overseeing city desk editorial staff in fast-paced news environments. Prior to this role, Erika worked as a Producer at News 12 Westchester from June 2010 to November 2016, leading employee teams in planning and special coverage, while producing and editing newscasts. Erika began a career in journalism as a Reporter for the NY Post from June 1998 to June 2008, covering crime stories and contributing to the "NYPD Blotter." Additional experience includes work as a Senior Writer/Editor at Soap Opera Digest, a Contributing Editor for Pixie Magazine, and an Intern at Fox News Channel. Erika holds a BA in Communications from Fordham University, earned in 1999.
