Maxwell Eriksrud is currently serving as a Student Member of the State Board of Higher Education with the North Dakota University System since July 2024. As Managing Director of Finance for the Dakota Venture Group, a student-run venture capital firm, Maxwell focuses on enhancing the Midwest's economy and investor returns. In addition to this role, Maxwell holds positions as Student Body Treasurer and Admissions Ambassador at the University of North Dakota, where enrollment spans from January 2023 to the present. Maxwell previously interned at O'Leary Ventures from June 2024 to September 2024, assisting in due diligence for company investments. Maxwell is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship, a Bachelor of Accountancy, and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Dentistry Studies at the University of North Dakota, with an expected graduation date in May 2026.

The Dakota Venture Group (DVG) is a University of North Dakota student run venture capital investment fund. DVG is the first completely student run venture capital fund in the United States. It is unique because DVG is the first fund where students complete all due diligence, make the final investment decision, and negotiate the deal's term structure. By participating in Dakota Venture Group UND students receive an unheard of opportunity for experiential learning in the field of venture capital and angel investing.
