David Gartland has held various leadership roles in the education sector. David began their career as an Associate Principal at Saint Francis Xavier Sixth Form College in 2008. From 2011 to 2018, they served as Vice Principal and later as Principal at Lowestoft Sixth Form College. David then moved on to become the Principal of Abbeygate Sixth Form College from 2018 to 2023. Currently, they are the CEO and Principal of Darlington College.
David Gartland earned a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Sport Science from the University of Greenwich from 1994 to 1998. David also obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Education Leadership and Management from the University of Roehampton from 2009 to 2012.
