Ian D. Thompson has extensive experience in leadership and advisory roles within education and community services. Currently serving as Programme Lead at Darlington College since May 2017, Ian has previously held significant positions, including Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Advisor at the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy from August 2008 to April 2016, and Diversity Co-ordinator and School Counsellor at Durham County Council from August 2003 to August 2008. Ian's career began as a Community Development Officer in Darlington from May 1998 to April 2003, followed by work as a Welfare Rights Officer at the Citizens Advice Bureau between January 1999 and March 2001. Ian D. Thompson holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling from Durham University and a BA HONS in Business/Marketing Studies from Liverpool John Moores University.
