Steve is focused on helping DCVC manage and advise portfolio companies with advanced machine learning platforms applied to chemistry and biology. Prior to joining DCVC, Steve was VP of Artificial Intelligence at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Before that, he led Product at the DeepMind-for-Google team including AlphaFold, WaveNet and DataCenter Optimization. In addition to his work at DeepMind, Steve spent several years at Google working on the Google Maps, Gmail, and Google Search product teams. Steve received an MA in History from The University of Oxford and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from University College London.
