Hong Wei

Hong Wei is a highly experienced professional in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as the Director of Research and Principal Engineer at Datacolor since March 2011, focusing on hyperspectral imaging, colorimetry, machine learning, deep learning, display calibration, and photography. Prior to this role, Hong Wei worked as a Research Scientist at Kent Optronics, Inc. from February 2007 to March 2011, specializing in SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR scene simulation using liquid crystal technologies. Hong Wei began a career in research as a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from 2002 to 2007, investigating the optical properties of silicon inverse opals and quantum dots. Hong Wei holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science in the same field from Nanjing University.
