Kim Simard

Professor at Dawson College

Kim Simard is a seasoned educator and filmmaker with extensive experience in teaching and coordinating film projects. Currently serving as a Professor at Dawson College since December 2007, Kim instructs courses in Images and Sounds, Experimental Film and Video, Video Workshop, and History of Film Production Techniques. Prior to this role, Kim was the Director at iD Film Academy, overseeing a summer camp focused on documentary filmmaking for teenagers. Additionally, Kim held positions as Video Program Coordinator at Fréquence VIH and Instructor at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts, while also coordinating participatory video projects for youth living with HIV at Prise Positive_Positive Take. Kim earned an MFA in Film/Video Production from Concordia University between 2003 and 2006.
